Team side update

Hello Poolies:

With one series in the books, it's time for the first Sons of Manitoba team side update. First off congratulations to the Vancouver Canucks for their first series sweep in franchise history. Sure it only took you 39 years, but I'm sure it was worth the wait. I was impressed that Alex "I was a goon when I was in Manitoba" Burrows got the overtime winner Tuesday night.

Before I get to the update, let me first thank you all for entering this year. For the vets, it's nice to have you back and to the rookies it's great to have you on board. We have a few special guests this year — our former champions who have decided to return for another shot at glory. Please welcome Mary James (1993); Mike McGuire (2000); David Forbes and Ron Strate (2001); Natalie James (2001); Colleen Turnbull (2002); Mike Macaraeg (2003); Mike James (2003); Chris Chapman (2004, '05); Jeff Sandelli (2004); Rob Shaw (2006); Julianna Nowaczek (2007); Terry James (2008); Brad Bouzane (2008) and of course Yours Truly (1994, '95 — yes it's been WAY too long since I won this thing).

Now for the update, and I'm going to use a bit of a different format for this one. Regular updating will resume soon. Also when regular updates resume, the people elgible for prize money will have a '$' next to their names.
