More fun with numbers

With the St. Louis Blues on the brink of elimination tonight, I figured it's time to breakdown the first round, based on you picks.

Perhaps it's fitting that the Vancouver Canucks are the first team with the chance to advance as a whopping 96% of you predicted they will eliminate the Blues. Apparently three Swedes and a all-world goaltender inspire confidence in poolies as the Canucks are the most popular choice to advance out of the first round.

The two top seeds are also overwhelming favourties. Both Boston and San Jose had the support of 91% of entrants.

In fact seven of the eight first-round matchups were landslides. Washington at 88%; Pittsburgh at 82%, Detroit at 81% and New Jersey at 72%. The only series that was considered a tossup is Chicago and Calgary. The underdog Flames actually got 58% support in the pool, which means most of you haven't seen Olli Jokinen play.

Three Swedes? Perhaps you are forgetting Alex Edler and Mattias Ohlund? Or Daniel Rahimi on the farm?
