Your Dustin Penner Update

Even though some have suggested he is overrated, Winkler's own Dustin Penner proved his value to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks during last night's 4-3 overtime win in Denver. Of course, Joffrey Lupul got the headlines for his four goals, but three of those goals were set up by Penner. It's a long way from being overrated to being mentioned in the LA Times. The Penner-Lupul-Marchant line has proven to be a good second offensive option to the Selanne-McDonald-Kunitz line, which makes Anaheim a good bet in a potential all-California Western Conference final.

TSN was a stuck record on Penner, Penner and his having a brilliant future. Right now from the little I've seen of this series, Penner and Lupul have been the dominant Ducks and not McDonald and Selanne. Penner is deserving of the praise for his play thus far.

I still say when all is said and done Penner will be looked back upon as the winner of the Jim Carey award for being a one hit wonder.

Penner update: Dustin set up the Ducks' first goal and finished off a perfect 2-on-1 to register a pair of points in the Ducks' series-ending 4-1 win over Colorado Thursday. For the record, that's 5 points in 2 games for big #76.
