Update

It was a fairly miserable Thursday here in Red Deer. Damp, rainy and rather chilly. But tonight's loss by the Vancouver Canucks put a smile on my face. I was really hoping Vancouver wouldn't take a page out of Calgary and Edmonton's books and make a run to the final. I didn't want to have to deal with their obnoxious fans (many of whom are in this very pool!).

I was surprised by the number of poolies who had the Cancuks going the distance this year. Aside from having one of the best goaltenders in the game, the Cancuks didn't bring much else to the table. The Ducks win has allowed a few wise poolies to run away from the pack. It will be interesting to see if anyone can reel them in.
