There is no joy in Sens-ville update

The Anaheim Ducks won their first Stanley Cup earlier tonight, and from my perspective it was bittersweet.

On one hand I'm saddened the Senators lost (I've been mocked for the past two weeks at work after I was caught by CBC cameras shouting 'Go Sens Go' at a downtown rally, my protestations that I was actually yelling 'Go Jets Go' fell on deaf ears).

On the other hand, it was great to see Teemu Selanne lift that big mug. It's also great to see Oiler fans struggle to comprehend the result. On a personal note, no game on Saturday means I get the night off, which is also a bonus.

More importantly of course, the champagne corks were being popping in Dryden, Ont. shortly after the final whistle. The pride of Northwestern Ontario, Neil McKinnon, is this year's Sons of Manitoba team side champion. I tip my hat to you sir.

1) Neil McKinnon 71 Two champions from Dryden in one night
2) Ryan Plesko 64 The silver medalist, or the first loser. You decide
3) Terry James 60 Your best ever finish, congratulations
4) Kim Landon 56 Still better than most sports insiders
5) Colleen Racine 51 Tops among Carleton employees
6) Colleen Turnbull 49 Should Murray be fired?
7) Chris Chapman 47 Should Emery be released?
7) Mary James 47 Second among Winnipeggers
7) Jason Trout 47 Second among rookies
10) Mike Macaraeg 46 Tops among St. Paul's grads
11) Julianna Nowaczek 45 The dream died with Chris Phillips' miscue
12) Arthur Casement 44 How do you feel about Pronger's Cup?
13) Mike McGuire 42 Edged out Janet for dreaded No. 13
14) Janet Chapman 38 I confess, I joined Facebook
15) Jason Anthony 37 Second among 1st Dundas alumni
15) Jordan Stein 37 If only the Canucks had snared Niedermayer
17) Ali Hewitt 36 Speaking of the Cranbrook boys, why did Rob suck as a Flame?
18) Debb Coghlin 35 Out of the top 50 per cent
18) James Peters 35 Tops among Sons of Manitoba organizers
20) Sean Hutchinson 34 And this is where the standings are static
21) James Gordon 34 It will be quiet flight home for the Sens
22) Natalie James 32 Top score among my siblings
23) Rob Shaw 31 Way to score another A1
23) Lloyd Mack 31 You should give Neil a day off in honour of his win
25) Jack James 29 Hope the storm didn't damage your new shingles
25) Marlow Weldon 29 Top-25 would be impressive if the field was larger
25) Mary Kay Hosfield 29 Best of luck finishing that article
28) Peter Field 28 I concede the Battle of the Peters to you
29) Jenn Hosfield 27 Top score from one of my cousins (but you didn't have much competition)

31) Mike James 26 Your man Perros won't get his name on the Cup
31) Jeff Sandelli 26 Second among people from Dryden

The I finally have Internet update

Sorry for the long delay folks, but with moving, starting a new job and the fickleness of the Google Docs program, I've been unable to complete an update until now.

1) Neil McKinnon 59 You're back on top, and the Ducks pick may keep you here
2) Kim Lanodn 56 I hate to burst your bubble, but you won't win
3) Ryan Plesko 52 You can still move into second with a Ducks triumph
4) Colleen Racing 51 A Senators comeback hands you the title
5) Colleen Turnbull 49 Happy House Warming Day
6) Terry James 48 You get the family bragging rights this year
7) Mary James 47 Another top-10 finish is likely
7) Chris Chapman 47 Your third title won't come this year
9) Mike Macaraeg 46 Excited about the Winnipeg Predators yet?
10) Julianna Nowaczek 45 Here's hoping the Sens turn it around, eh
11) Arthur Casement 44 You must be counting down the days 'til the NHL draft
12) Mike McGuire 42 If only your SkipBo skills equalled your hockey pool skills...
13) Janet Chapman 38 Stuck at unlucky 13
14) Jason Anthony 37 Climbed back to respectability
14) Jordan Stein 37 Not even Luongo can help you now
16) Ali Hewitt 36 Belated Happy Birthday
17) Debb Coghlin 35 Just cracked the top 50 per cent
17) James Peters 35 You're stuck right here
17) Jason Trout 35 But you can still move up
20) Sean Hutchinson 34 Just read a story about your dad in the paper
21) James Gordon 34 A Sens win will allow you to move up
22) Natalie James 32 I agree with mum, the Cypress Hills are great
23) Rob Shaw 31 Go on any drug buys recently?
23) Lloyd Mack 31 You may want to get some pool tips from your sports editor next year
25) Jack James 29 I was surprised at the Nilson contract, how about you?
25) Marlow Weldon 29 You're going to be locked into this spot
25) Mary Kay Hosfield 29 As will you
28) Peter Field 28 In fact nothing much will change in this part of the pool
29) Jenn Hosfield 27 Because everyone this low has long since been eliminated
29) Brenden Hope 27 Hope you beat Mike at golf last night
31) Mike James 26 Because you beat him in the pool
31) Jeff Sandelli 26 No one remembers who came second last
33) Peter James 22 But they all remember who finished dead last
